If your order hasn’t been shipped already we can change your address. If it has been shipped already you will have to contact our shipping company Swiss Post to change your address and redirect your order.
  • I’ve just placed my order. What’s next?
    Amazing!! We hope you love our products as much as we do! You should receive your confirmation mail within the next hour (make sure to also check your spam folder if you never received an email from us before). If you should not receive a confirmation email within this time frame, please send us a message with your name and order number at info@simahomeware.com.
  • Can I cancel/make changes to my order once I place it?
    As long as the order has not been processed you will be able to make a change to your order and we’ll do everything in our power to fulfill your request. We do process orders very quickly though, so make sure that you reach out to us as quickly as possible via email.
  • How long will the shipping take?
    All orders placed on our website are proceed within 1-3 business days. Your order will be shipped from Winterthur, Switzerland with Swiss Post. As soon as your order is shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information to keep you updated on your package's whereabouts.   • I haven't received my tracking number
    Once your order is shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation with a tracking number.   • Can I return my item(s)?
    You certainly can! Even though we hope that you will be happy with our products it can obviously happen that you might want to return something. In that case, just make sure that everything is still not used and that you are within 14 days after the delivery day. The return policy only applies to unused products and original packaging. Once we receive the returned item(s) the charges will be credited to you. The shipping costs are non-refundable.   • When will I receive a refund for my product return?
    We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

    We care for our environment and want to minimize returns as much as possible. Please think twice before you order something to avoid preventable returns. If you need to return something you will be responsible for paying return shipping costs. We recommend reusing the packaging your order came in to lower your environmental impact. Our brushes last over three months with proper care. On top of that all of our products can be washed in the dishwasher. Also, you can order extra heads for your wooden dishwasher brush. So you can use it even longer!

    The recommended temperature is 40 degrees Celsius. If there are spots or stains, you can increase it to 60 degrees Celsius for targeted cleaning. It's not recommended to use bleach on undyed linen towels. Bleach can weaken the natural fibers, leading to fraying and reducing the longevity of the towels. Instead, opt for a mild detergent.
  • Are undyed linen towels more environmentally friendly than regular cotton ones?

    Yes, you can iron. To avoid wrinkles we recommend to iron our linen towels while they are slightly damp. Use a medium heat setting and iron on the reverse side if necessary.
  • Are candles in your shop hand-poured?
    Yes, all candles we sell at SIMAhomeware are hand-poured with lots of love in Zurich.
  • What wax do you use for candles?
    We use rapeseed wax for sculptural candles and soy wax for scented container candles. Both are eco-friendly and safe for health. Canola wax is a soft, buttery, white wax derived from rapeseed oil, so it is natural and sustainable. It is very common in Switzerland as the plants are mainly grown in Europe. Soy wax is a natural and renewable wax derived from soybeans. It's created through a process that involves harvesting soybeans, cleaning and hulling them, before extracting the oil. The oil undergoes hydrogenation to turn it into a solid form, resulting in soy wax.
  • Are soy and rapeseed waxes environmentally friendly?
    Both soy and rapeseed waxes are considered environmentally friendly. They are biodegradable, derived from renewable resources, and support sustainable agriculture.
  • Why don't you sell candles made of paraffin?
    Even though paraffin is cheaper, soy and rapeseed waxes have advantages over it in terms of safety for health and environmental impact. Candles made of soy and rapeseed wax burn cleaner, produce less soot and are derived from renewable plant sources, unlike paraffin, which comes from petroleum.
  • Can I use candles made from soy and rapeseed waxes if I have allergies?
    Both waxes are hypoallergenic, and many individuals with allergies or sensitivities find them suitable. However, it's advisable to test a small area if you have specific sensitivities and consul your doctor.
  • Do soy and rapeseed wax candles have a strong scent?
    Both waxes have excellent scent-holding properties. The strength of the scent depends on the quality of the fragrance oil used. To insure this we use premium oils which provide a pleasant and even scent throw.
  • Are candles made from soy and rapeseed waxes safe for health?
    Yes, candles made from both waxes are generally safe for health. They do not emit harmful toxins or carcinogens when burned, contributing to a healthier indoor environment.
  • What precautions should I take with soy and rapeseed wax candles?
    Keep these candles away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent melting. Follow general candle safety guidelines for optimal use.
  • Can I leave the candle unattended?
    For safety reasons, never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish it before leaving the room, and make sure it's completely out before going to sleep.
  • How to take care of wooden wicks?
    1️. Trim the wick: Keep the wooden wick trimmed to around 0.5 cm before each use to prevent excessive smoke and ensure an even burn. 2️. Avoid drafts: Burn your wooden wick candle away from drafts to prevent uneven burning and soot buildup. 3️. Let it melt: Allow the entire surface of the candle to melt during the first burn to prevent tunnelling. 4️. Extinguish safely: Use a snuffer or lid to extinguish the candle, which helps avoid blowing hot wax.
  • How long should be the wooden wick?
    For safety reasons and to make your favorite candles last we recommend to keep the wooden wick 0.3-0.4 cm long
  • What's the best way to extinguish the candle?
    Use a candle snuffer or gently blow on the flame until it's extinguished. Avoid blowing too hard to prevent hot wax splatter.
